i'm having problems with my computer stuttering and freezing. Music stutters all the time and sometimes my computer won't even boot. I bought new ram a few weeks agao and that helped a little bit. My hd's a pretty new so I don't think they are the problem either. Could it be that my CPU is starting to go?

I'm rebuilding a computer and trying to use as much of the components from old computer as possible. Putting in PCChips P23G V3.0 motherboard (775 socket with Celeron D 351 processor. the older computer used PC-2100 512MB memory stick. The motherboard shows it supports 333/400 DDR memory. will the PC-2100 work in the board for right now. Person is low on funds and I'm trying to help fix the computer without too much expense.

I build my own systems and install my own OS's. I have everything I need to make the switch. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestion on how to go about doing this without having to do a complete reinstall of all software.

I will never buy another Western Digital HD for as long as I live. I am on my third warranty replacement and the OS reports it is failing also.

really all I use my pc for is:
search the internet
download music
and upload pictures from my camera
oh, and I email alot too..

what I wanna get into is:
using my desktop as my personal stereo
and start burning my own DVD's

can anyone tell me, what I should be looking for. HP sent me a deal for under 500 bucks, but not sure what I should be looking for. as far as memory, hard drive.. sound?? and CD/DVD slots

well i no how to make the background of an image all white with that magic want tool but it doesnt remove the back round when u erase the back round it makes it white instead do u no how to cut the HOLE back round so then its like no back round that if u place it on like a um...blak background its black and anyways lik no background

This started about the time I had a power shutoff. There is static when I close, resize or switch windows or pages in a browser etc. I've positioned my mouse to close or open a window, then turned off the monitor, clicked the mouse and the static is still there, even with the monitor off, so the problem is within the computer. I think my sound adapter has gone bad on me. I already reinstalled the driver, no help there.

Bought on Ebay very cheaply an 8gb flash drive. 1. it came with 2 viruses/trojans attached. Ok I reformatted/ ran again Norton Anti Virus. It appears it is gone. My ques: I go to My Computer>Properties>Capacity. It says 7.98. Fine I understand that all is not exact. But,a friend who also bought from someone else on Ebay an 8gb is saying that you can only find out the true capacity by actually placing files/folders on this flash drive because for some reason these do not register truthfully. Could this be? Could I have been "had'? (don't advise me to contact Ebay or Paypal..I am a grandmother and it is all too confusing!First the viruses/and now this..i am probably not the first to have been 'taken'..how come Ebay and paypal don't throw these guys off!..they go by different names) but MY ? is could it be that this is not an 8gb if My Computer>Properties>Capacity says it is? Then why? is my friend's showing 540mg but it registers as an 8gb?

Whenever I load the DVD & try to explore it, Windows explorer stops responding.I have tried disabling McAfee and Zone Alarm but the result is the same. The system hangs. But when I eject the DVD from the Drive, the Explorer starts working. Can any body help me? Thanks.

It happened to me maybe... two weeks ago, I think for the first time ever, I was really annoyed. Then last night it happened again and so my father cleared away any dust that might be getting at the fan, and tonight, it's just done it again. One minute I was on the computer with no apparent problems, a few minutes later I come back and it's turned off.

Does any know what the problem could be other then over heating? I never turn off my computer, but I'm never had over hearting problems, so I don't think that's the cause...

My wife is currently searching for the best factory built computer for her photography business. She uses Windows so the Mac is out. We have been looking at getting another XPS 400 system from Dell because we have one of them all ready, so any info will help. I've been upgrading the ram on my computer, and I know what kind of ram I need. So, I bought what I thought was DDR ram from craigs list only to find out that it won't fit. It has 2 chips where I plug it into the slot instead of just one, and with what little bit of information I've been able to gather, that means it is SD RAM, correct?

If so, how can I tell what other specifications it has because I plan to sell it on Ebay.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have a hp with windows xp home. It wakes up from standby and hibernate and when it does the actual tower sounds like the fan starts running. I close all programs, I have the energy star setting, and I have run spybot and norton in safe mode. All input is greatly appreciated.
