Whenever I load the DVD & try to explore it, Windows explorer stops responding.I have tried disabling McAfee and Zone Alarm but the result is the same. The system hangs. But when I eject the DVD from the Drive, the Explorer starts working. Can any body help me? Thanks.

It sounds like you need to increase your memory or increase your Virtual memory.

Your drive cannot read the DVD for some reason.

Can your drive read RW re-writtable DVD´s? (DVDRW)
Hs the DVD been re written too often, some cheap DVD´s tend to loose thier properties and stop working.
Basically DVD is scratched, written in the wrong format.

Explorer freezes because you have autoplay set on, it´s trying to autoplay but it can´t because it can´t read parts of the DVD, so it loops.

Nothing to do with your virtual memory by the way.

Well the problem might be with your DVD Drive. It usually happens that when dvd drive is unable to read data it sends a kind of busy signal back and that might able to hang your pc. If possible try to temporarily swap your drive with someone else. Or try to check your drive on some one else's computer. If everything fails try to reinstall your operating system.

sounds to me like it's looking for software that the DVD was made with I had the same problem when I used roxio to make it and tried Nero to read it. it's almost like it's not closed or finished form the original burn
