No, it's not normal with any brand of computer. Maybe you are not doing enough maintenance on it. Make sure you run the defrag every two weeks, delete cookies on a regular basis, also the history. Do a disk cleanup every two weeks, update windows every week, run antivirus at least once a week. Make sure you have a good firewall, like zone alarm. Run your anti-spyware once a week, this all depends on how often you use your computer. Hope this helped..

Yes in recent years there computers have went down the pooper sorry to say. I have been working with newer and few year old dells lately and there causing all kinds of trouble. If you've noticed how cheap they are that's why, there cheap made computers and begin to have problems after about a year.

I've used and owned quite a few Dell computers and haven't had any significant problems. Yours might be old, or as someone else suggested, you aren't doing maintenance and taking care of it like you should be.
I highly disagree with the first answerer - Alienwares are not good machines, I've owned one and I can honestly say that it was the most overpriced and underperforming machine I have ever used. Combine that with dismal customer service and tech support and you have a very expensive paperweight.

I don't know (how about that for a truthful answer). However if it's software problems there is a free program called Advanced Windows Care that might take some of the aggravation out of owning a Dell. Best of luck.

Back when dells were good, no. However, lately dell has went down the crapper. Dells suck now, as a matter of fact, all pre-built PCs are not that great, unless you get an alienware. I say, if you want a great computer, build your own.
