The motherboard shows it supports 333/400 DDR memory. will the PC-2100 work in the board for right now. Person is low on funds and I'm trying to help fix the computer without too much expense.

What is the pin configuration of the motherboard compared to the ram chip? It is possible that you have a 184 pin memory module but a 200 pin socket on the motherboard.

They keep changing the technology.

If you use a slower memory module the system will run at the slower clock speed. The PC 2100 Module has a memory speed (probably 266MHz). If the motherboard calls for a faster memory it is not advisable to use something else.

It might work, but I would advise against it.

Yes, you can use your old DDR 266 (PC2100) memory in this motherboard. It has 2 DDR slots and 2 DDR2 slots. You can't have both DDR and DDR2 memory in the board at the same time though. For right now it will work, but you should upgrade to some DDR2 400 (PC3200) when you have the chance.

The reminiscence will artwork yet basically at PC2100 speeds. I had executed that with yet another motherboard that basically supported PC2700 yet I had PC3200. i became into already making plans for the improve purely before time. The motherboard will basically understand the supported speed. you are going to be able to could change the reminiscence modules to be sure that them to be reconized at their suitable length(1Gb). If that doesn't help my advice may well be, you do not have the quantity you think of you have. that is going to artwork reason DDR reminiscence can run slower than that is cautioned speed, purely not speedier. it gets decrease back to the PC2100 speed. additionally the RAM you jjust offered could properly be DOA(ineffective on arrival), relies upon on the place you purchased it from and the surely producer. some manufacturers are fairly crappy, consistently by using excellent properly named reminiscence. could pay slightly greater yet properly worth it. i in my view have a feeling which you have a bad reminiscence module, deliver it back and get yet another or get you a refund. provide info of your MB and that i'll verify for you and then email you the information?!?!

YES as long as its ddr. 2100 just represents the speed of the ram. I have a ddr 2100 in my computer right now and did tons of research on ram when i installed it. You will have no problem as long as it supports ddr ram. 333/400 is the front side bus. a whole different subject.

Though it will work, you are now faced with the "lowest common denominator" factor. Your computer will only run as fast as its slowest link...in which case would be your memory. You CAN mix different speed cards as well, but it wouldn't be suggested. But the 2100 will work in the computer as-is.

Depends, does the PC2100 have the same mhz frequency. All motherboards are backwards compatible, but only if it supports that low end ram you are trying to use.

i dont think the PC will Post. eventhough, its DDR because the motherboard only suppurt 333/400

let us know, if the RAM will work on the board
