I'm a musician and looking for a Mac computer. I don't know much about apple products so I was wondering which model would be the best for making music. I have a keyboard I can plug in, so I don't need the one that has the piano attached to it like I saw in the store. I would like to plug a quality microphone into it to lay down vocals. Could all of this just be done on Windows by buying a real good sound card and music programs?

Any ideas?

I've had Super AnitSpyware and AVG Anitvirus installed on my computer for some time now and this has never happened... I was on the web when a box came up saying that something was infected....I'm not sure if it was a Superantispyware or AVG message....but it gave me options to heal ignore or move to vault...I chose to heal. It had to restart for the healing to take effect, but it goes as far as showing the windows home edition page and a few seconds later it restarts! I've tried safe mode and all the other "advanced" options but nothing will get me in...HELP!

I have read answers to similar question, but they really don't answer my question. The games we play are Pogo and Yahoo, some poker sites. We do email and web surf. That's all we do. I have been told different answers about a dual core processor, i.e., I need one and no I don't need one for the gaming I do, saying the dual processor is more for the extreme gaming. Is Dell the best out there compared to HP or Gateway or any others? Is 512 Ram enough? I am looking at a Dell AMD 64 3200+, 512 DDR2, 160 GB, cd/dvd burner 13:1 reader, Win XP Media for $623???

This pc i bought came with no hard drive and no ram.Firstly i put in 2 sticks of sdram Pc133.it only accepted 1 strick.I even changed them around, the same result 1 stick, the same memory bank aswell,so its not the ram. Then i took out the cmos battery for 30 seconds, put it back, then put in the ram,the same i memory stick works, but this time its on the bank that never worked. So don't what this issue is there, its no the board or ram. Then the hard drive,it gets to the option with safe mode, windows start normal, but nothing happens. Is it because of the 128MB?

My warranty has expired, HP wants to charge me for recovery disks because I've already used up my one "free" recovery, according to HP rep. Error messages are "NTDLR is missing". And "SETUPREG.HIV could not be loaded". I have access to the BIOS settings which have returned to original "optimized/default" settings at time created. XP comes installed in this computer. So "just installing WXP CD" -not option. Can I manipulate the BIOS settings so pc recognizes hard drive? Thank you. I'm .

I have my own computer. What is a good computer to purchase for playing games, using the internet, and using microsoft documetns (i.e power point, excel, word etc.). I already have a Dell, but I tried to download games, and they were very slow. I've heard alienware was good. Price is not problem just not above 1500, for now. So what good computer can I get for gaming?

I am shopping for a decent and simple desktop for the house. that can be used by the kids , and the wife. Has windows operating sw including Word and other tools. I would love to look at MAC's but know they are very expensive.
typical web surfing, homework projects, game use.
Dell and HP advertise desktops from $399 with free monitors sometimes. I am trying to find out if those computers are good quality and the deals are too good to be true.
I do not want to spend a lot of money (would love to spend just between $300-600) but do also want the best value and no problems.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
I dont know if you can help me but it is worth a shot. I have purchaced a new computer tower and plugged everthing in. I started it up and it sounds like it is running great, but my monitor shows nothing, it is just a black screen. I know it isnt the monitor becuase i plugged it in to my other computer and it works fine. Do you have any idea what it could be??? What would cause a computer not to transfer the image to my monitor. I am open to any suggestions. Could I have not done something? Please help thanks
