I have ten computers, all of which will have a C drive and a second 2GB hard drive solely meant for storing data. Users of these ten machines will store any and all data on this 2GB hard drive instead of on their C drive.
I have installed this second 2GB drive on one machine and have named it, "L" and I want to clone (or copy) my C drive with the operating system and all applications to each of the ten machines that will also hold the 2GB hard drive. But when I clone my, "master" to the ten other drives that are to be each machine's C drive, physically install them (and physically install the 2GB drives) into the ten machines and boot each machine up, the drive name of the 2GB drive changes to, "D" and not, "L". Is there any way that I can make my, "master" drive carry over the drive letter path to each of the ten machines when cloning them instead of having to go to each single machine and change the drive letter manually? The drive letter just keeps changing to, "D." Help?!?!

I am looking to get a computer. I currently have a laptop from 4 yrs ago and am frustrated at how slow it is. I do not game, but want a fast computer I can run several programs on without waiting a long time. I also want something that I won't have to upgrade for a while. How does this look for specs? It is a Dell E520 btw.

PROCESSOR Pentium® D Processor 915 with Dual Core Technology (2.8GHz, 800FSB) edit
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition
UPGRADE TO WINDOWS VISTA Express Upgrade MEMORY 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs
HARD DRIVE 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
GRAPHICS CARD Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 SOUND Integrated Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Edition

Also, is duo core the way to go? I know it is better than P-4, but does it matter if I am not gaming? I don't want to have to update it in the near future, and thought it might be a safe way to go.
Thanks in advance!

the games which barely reach 20 frames on the celeron, reach up to 50 frames on the pentium 4. Is this possible? I mean is the performace difference this much for these two cpus or is it something other that is affecting the performance. All the other settings are the same

I know how to install a motherboard and build a computer, I know I need to use spacers between mobo and case, etc.

I've never used the washers before and i know I dont HAVE to, but I figure they are provided for a reason.

ALL I NEED TO KNOW, if should the washers go between the mobo and the spacers(back side of mobo), or should the washers go between the mobo and the screw heads (top side of mobo).

I just asked this question -- i got 6 answers, 3 one way, 3 the other. So Im asking again, and this time I am asking that you *****PROVIDE A REFERENCE (LINK) FOR YOUR ANSWER*****

FYI: They are little reddish, cardboard feeling, washers. They have adheasive on one side.

Thanks for the answers!! Sorry to spam the same question again!!

Like, are they supposed to go between the mobo, and what it's being screwed into(backside), or between the mobo, and the screw head (frontside).

My computer just stopped working suddenly. First of all the power wouldn't come on - then it came on once and went off again. The light that is usually green (the power button) and a little light underneath the power button that usually flashes is now a solid yellow all the time and nothing is happening! Does anyone have any idea what has happened? Thanks!
