you are most likely running windows xp. your volume icon is not enabled but default. to enable this, click on start-->settings-->control panel and then double click on "sound and audio devices" then tick the box where it says, "place volume icon in the taskbar". hope that helps.

You may have to look on the program that you are using at the time. If you are using the Windows Media Player, for example, there is a volume control on it as well as in the control panel. So, each viewer/player that you use could have a volume control on it also. If your talking about a laptop, there is a "thumb-wheel" control on the outside of the case.

EASY.. go to the task bar.. down on the bottom where you see the clock icon.. there is a small icon that looks like a bull horn.. click on it and a small screen(also on the bottom) will appear with the scale on it to increase or decrease the volume.. just slide it up or down.. There is also a small square there with the word MUTE.. make sure that there is NO check mark in that little square.

i have an icon by the time for volume its a grey circle ment to look like a speaker
or go STart ,Settings,control panel then sounds and audio devices if its external speakers turn them on at speaker

First be sure you speaker volume is turned on ,it's on one of the speakers,look for speaker icon next to clock,may be hidden so click << to bring it out.Click it and adjust your sound.Can also be found in contol panel,sounds and audio devices.
