Could be your anti-virus software. I've heard reports that the back up facility within Norton causes some PCs to run very slowly. I also had a problem with free anti-virus software from Barclays Bank - once removed my PC ran perfectly again.

HI
I think u have virus or spyware in ur pc.tryu use some anti virus and an antispyware programm. I can suggest u to get the software to download files. The software named "inernet download manager", it's a good software.the link is http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html
.Now if ur internet speed still slow then i suggest to reinstall ur windows and install an antivirus(updated and also before install anything or browsing internet also accessing anyorther files from hard disk drive). If it's still slow ask ur ISP that is what is there actual connection speed.
good luck

Delete all of the cookies and temporary Internet files in IE. Download, update and run, Ad-Aware, Spy-bot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender, and AVG Antivirus (all free). Delete any unused programs from your computer in the Control Panel>Add and Remove Programs. Then do a "Defrag". My Computer>C:\ Drive>right tic on c:\ drive>tic Properties>tic Tools tab>tic Defragment button. Defrag even if WinXP says that you don't have to do a Defrag.

You might want to check what programs you have running ,look in the lower right corner of your screen an see what you have running ,plus some Antivirus programs tend to slow your connection/running speed of your system

Broadbands can be set to go at slower speeds for poorer computers. Some broadbands come with this as the default.

When was the last time you defragged your computer?

I would check for viruses first of all. Then I would recommend checking for spyware and adware. Clear our your Temp Internet files and clear your history from Internet Options. Also check your system and see if it needs a defragmentation.
