Not too much is involved. Unplug the computer and unhook all cables to the box. Take off the sides and make sure your new power supply is big enough (has enough watts) and is the right type. Unplug it's cables going to board and hard drive, etc. Take a few screws out and the power supply will come out. Reverse this process when putting it back in.

You will need to open up your CPU unit and take out the SMPS - Switch Mode Power Supply (whch is a box attached near the fan in the CPU)
If in doubt, relate the newer SMPS (i m presuming this is what you are changing) cords to the old one.
It doesnt take much as such, it is quite simple, but you may need to take small precautions so you dont end up blowing up your desktop, or worse still yourself!

changing a box unit inside the computer undoing few screws straight forward easy job and this unit costs around 20 dollars only
any one can do it its the unit that u plug your power supply too
if u do not know the type u require take it to the shop after unplugging it to get it matched

4 screws and a few cables its not hard just make sure you get all the connectors back to your equipment so everything works
