I recommend a mac. We have had our for more than a year and it has only "froze up" three times, and when it happened it was only one program..I force quit THAT program and the rest of the computer still ran fine. Also, there becomes NO MORE worries about viruses, etc. My best friend recently got a new pc..her old one was acting horrible..my husband and I tried talking her into a mac but they were apprehensive, so they got an HP. Paid BUCO bucks, didn't even have it two months and it was freezing up, infested with viruses ( and they HAVE all the virus software too) and was acting horrible! They have had soo much trouble with it, and have owned it for 4 months now. She sees how little trouble we have, how wonderful ours is and she regrets not listening to us and just getting a mac to begin with. I have used computers for more than 10 years. I used to just think they all STUNK..until i got on a mac and now I ENJOY it. Granted, macs have not always been at the top..they had a bad spell, but they are awesome now! I don't think you would regret it. JMO

Depends on your budget and what you're using it for.

If you're going to surf the web, check email, listen to music, etc... and want little to no hassle then go with a Mac. There might be a learning curve if you've never used one though.

If you're looking to not spend a lot of money go with one of the Dells they have a deal on. But expect to run into problems if you're not careful. You get no learning curve with this if you're current computer is running Windows. Plus all your software still works.

If you do more than that you'll need someone to spec-out a system for you to complete that task.
