Hi,
I dont know if you can help me but it is worth a shot. I have purchaced a new computer tower and plugged everthing in. I started it up and it sounds like it is running great, but my monitor shows nothing, it is just a black screen. I know it isnt the monitor becuase i plugged it in to my other computer and it works fine. Do you have any idea what it could be??? What would cause a computer not to transfer the image to my monitor. I am open to any suggestions. Could I have not done something? Please help thanks

Are there 2 places in the back to plug in the monitor? If so, try the other one.

Do you have 2 different monitor plugs on the back of your computer? Does the monitor have a green light on it or an amber? Is your video card build onto the motherboard or is it in one of the slots below as in a separate video card?

If your computer sounds like it is running and booting up (i.e. the hard drive light is flashing). Then you've probably got a bad video card OR the video card has been knocked loose and needs to be re-seated.

Try re-seating the video card and see what happens. Good luck!

Chances are if you open the computer you will void your warranty. From the sounds of it, that is probably what you will have to do. Take is back to the place where you bought it from and have them service it for free. Beyond that I am not sure what else to suggest.
