Your taskbar's probably just been hidden somehow (I'm assuming the Start Menu still appears when you hit the WIndows key).

Anyway, move your mouse down to the bottom of the screen; it should turn into a double-headed arrow. Click and drag upwards and your taskbar should reappear. If you then right-click on it and select "Lock The Taskbar", this should prevent it from going walkabout again.

Hope this helps!

Your monitor settings could be wrong and your screen could be resized incorrectly which prevents you from seeing the task bar. Try to check and see if your monitor "horizontal size is not bigger than your windows desktop borders.

Other than that there are many reasons for this problem up to a corrupt windows and then you will need a re installation or a restoration to be carried out.

I think there is a task bar but it's minimized , that's if you can see a thin blue line in the lowest part of the screen ..
If so , point with the pointer on it , the pointer will change into two arrows ( up and down ) , press and pull up , it will appear ..
If not >>> I don't know

Follow Dirty's advice, if not working then it is not going to work anymore, the Windows installation I don't mean the computer.

Regardless whether or not that advice works, recover the data already on the hard drive in anyway you can do and reinstall Windows.

If you are going to ask the public questions, please be courteous enough to use correct grammar, at lest at the 6th grade level.

You show very little respect or consideration for the Forum members!

Would you want some one to visit your home and use your grammar while talking with your mother?

dirty_idea has the correct answer.
explorer isn't working correctly.
just do an alt ctrl del
click file
new task
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
click ok
bobs your uncle.
it means your explorer file might be corrupt.
copy it off your windows cd and install it over the current version.
my laptop did this, this fixed it.
