.

You could not create icons for CD drives in your computer.

Just check out whether you satisfy the below things.

First of all you should connect a CD drive in your CPU and give the proper connections like power and data cable. Then you would have to install the appropriate driver for the CD, which you would have got in a CD when you were buying the CD drive. If you install the driver using the driver CD, then you will get the icon automatically.

If you didnt get the driver CD or currently dont have it, then download the driver from the net by specifying the company name of you CD drive. Better use google to get it. for eg. Type in google search as "Download driver for samsung CD drive".

You will get the driver software and install it.

CD Drive is a Plug and play device.. first of all check if all the three cables are plugged properly to the respective devices in the Unit. Boot your computer, check if the li'l green light blinks.. if it doesn't, therz problem with your physical drive.. if it does, let the PC boot properly.. If You have performed the steps mentioned by Chaitu, I am sure that the issue will be resolved as CD-ROM drive is a plug n play device, If you are still facing the issue then ensure that the drive is enabled/turned on in BIOS.
