Easiest way...Use the current OS to format the 2nd hard drive as NTFS (if using Windows based OS). Use the restore CD or installation floppy disks to reinstall the OS on the 1st hard drive. Split that drive into 2, 40G partitions and format as NTFS. You don't need 80GB for the OS and program files. You will end up with a C: drive of 40GB. D: drive of 40GB. CD-RW will most likely be F: then the 2nd hard drive would probably end up as E: at 80GB

There's quite a few ways you could go about doing this - reboot with XP (or whatever) CD, reformat C and reinstall, then reformat D from with Windows - or you could use fdisk on a DOS bootdisk to reformat and repartition both drives, and THEN install windows...
