spy vs. spy is wrong - Microsoft doesn't make chips - INTEL makes chips. He's right about AMD being a manufacturer and Celeron being a model, so with that, it's a bit like you're asking which apple is better? An apple or an orange?
A sempron is the marketing AMD equivalent to a celeron - and as for which is faster, it depends on what you're doing.

AMD is a maker of chips and celeron is a kind of chip made by microsoft. Celeron vs sempron is hard to say, but I would go with the AMD chip, preferably the opteron.

definetly AMD it has a lot of processing power but the problem is that it takes up a lot of heat .AMD is mostly prefered for a gaming computer.so if you like to play high quality games this the choice.
oh i forgot celeron also takes up a lot of heat
I think you can ask for a fan to b e inside the comp to cool it down

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in addition to what previous posters said, I believe AMD chips run a bit cooler then Intel.
