As a computer tech I would recommend a self or custom built computer. With these computers you know what is going into your system, good quality parts, just what you need and no extra junk software. If you look around many places will cater to your needs and not charge you an arm and a leg. However if this is not an option I would suggest a Dell. HP and Gateway are formatted with wayyy to much junk on them. The case also allows poor air circulation. However cheap they may be, E-Machine's are made with cheap parts, I can almost assure you that you will have a problem with your CD drive within the first year. But whatever way you go I would recommend a full reformat of your system right when you get it. Not the system restore, not the software your given. Start fresh and clean.

Those applications that suit you, meet your budget. Need not be the most expensive or latest model. For your info, there is a life span in this computer, it will crush one day ?
