i have a Notebook Computer HP Pavilion ze5730us
the operating system winxp home sp1a
the problem is the "Fn" key does not work with "f1,f2" keys to adjust the brightness of the screen
but it works with all the other keys, this problem started 20 days ago.

My laptop needed to be sent in and, of course, everything was wiped clean. When I installed some of my programs back I noticed the font was not the nice font I had before. They're almost grainy looking. I was told if I re-installed office that I would get my nice fonts back. I re-installed it, but the fonts don't appear in my other programs like they used to. I have the nicer fonts in office, but they aren't used in my other programs. How do i fix this?

I want to upgrade to Windows Vista, but my video card is the only thing holding me back from the Home Premium edition. Please don't waste my and your time by saying things like "Buy a Mac" or "Use Linux" because I prefer Windows.

I have installed a new hard drive as the Master and I installed my crashed hard drive as the Slave. I booted up the computer and looked under My Computer hoping to see the other hard drive, but it was not showing up. As the computer was booting up the old drive was making noise and it seemed like the internal parts were moving.

How do I get my computer to recognize the Slave drive(I do have the jumpers set correctly)???

Just this morning my Planar monitor just doesn't seem to stay on. Even during the screen where everything is unplugged and it says "No Signal". I know my 5yr old was messing around down here last night but could there be a setting on the monitor itself that doesn't allow it to stay on? I plugged the monitor into my laptop as a dual screen and it does the same weird thing. The only time it displays is when I change the resolution and then it shuts down almost instantly. thanks in advance.

everytime i use an application that requires more power to run,my pc just shuts down making this beep sound(the one that u get from the cpu while shutting down).i think its related to the hard drive because a lot of times when my pc doesnt even boot,i just remove the power cable connected to the hard drive and put it back again and the pc starts

I would like to buy speakers for my PC under £30 (or $50). I have a few questions:

1. Is it worth to buy a 2.1 (with a sub-woofer), or a decent 2.0 will do (I won’t turn it on loud because of my neighbours!)

2. I’ve seen “mobile theatre” speakers, are they even better quality?
