HD PATA 80 GB - PRIMARY, MASTER
CD-DVD ONLY READING - PRIMARY, SLAVE
CD-DVD READING/BURNER - SECONDARY MASTER
HD SATA 40GB - SATA - Get this Hart Drive to run your OS, and use the 80GB as storage.. Dont use Vista, it sucks! Wait till the bugs have been fixed!

SATA set up as your boot driver.
PATA in Primary Master/ CD/DVD Reader Primary Slave
CD/DVD burner as secondary master.

You may have to tweak the bios settings because your motherboard may default to the PATA drive as the boot drive.

for starters the pata drive will be on the IDE lead so put it on the end socket.

the sata drive i assume will be your OS drive so you will need to format it and load RAID driver from floppy.

the cd rom drive and cdrw drive will go on other IDE lead with the one you want as your main one(i suspect the cdrw) set to master and other one slave.

primary master for HDD in which you wanna boot your system, means you wanna install your OS.
Primary slave for second HDD
Let the system to choose CD/DVD situation by itself.
