I was installing extra RAM and the Ram card popped out while it was bootong up. Now I can't get anything to come up on my moniter. The moniter works fine I checked it on another computer. Any suggestions? Is my motherboard fried?

Ouch!!!! You probably ruined your memory stick. I will try replacing the memory first. You are more likely to damage the memory with that mishap than the motherboard. Nevertheless, both could have been ruined. Replace memory first.

Good luck.

Having the memory stick pop out while booting can fry your motherboard very easily. Since it popped I wonder if it was even the correct type to begin with as they are locked down by the end pieces unless you forced the wrong type in. Start by removing everything from the motherboard except the video card. Turn it on. You should at least see a boot menu to get into the bios (something like hit F12 or DEL). If not then use a different video card and try again. If still nothing then the board is shot. If you do see a boot menu then turn it off and reconnect your hard drive. Do that with each peripheral until you come to where it no longer works - that is the bad peripheral. BTW you should start this with known good memory - not the one that popped out.

purely through fact the motherboard went south does not advise it took the processor alongside with it. the sole thank you to ensure is to have the processor taken out and placed right into a robust board and then see if it relatively works. the opportunities are high that it relatively is possibly ruined too, and particular the reminiscence and the video card besides. something promptly related to the motherboard as in a slot as an occasion, possibly the two is lifeless or is broken to the factor the place that's going to certainly will fail. What i'm completely at a loss at is why human beings won't spend $25 - $35 to purchase a robust surge protector so as that their hundreds of greenbacks of investment in a working laptop or pc has some secure practices. possessing a working laptop or pc is like possessing a automobile, issues can take place...and it relatively is the reason we choose slightly of coverage secure practices. evaluate an workplace-grade surge protector to be like an coverage plans...that's going to pay for itself while issues take place. you need to placed money right into a robust surge protector with the optimal Joules score you will get. do no longer purchase a decrease priced $5 or $10 one. the stable corporation type ones value $25 +. and you will get a robust one in like workplace Depot or Staples. preserve your investment!

I presume when you turn your pc on it sounds like it starts up? I also assume you have the power plug connected to the mains!

Try the following:

Remove your Ram leaving only one stick of known good RAM.
If you have onboard graphics, remove your extra external graphics card.
Remove any other non-essential cards (modem, lan etc)
Remove the BIOS battery from your motherboard and replace after 15 seconds.
Do all of the above carefully!!
Reboot PC.
You might have only corrupted the bios settings - Hopefully!!
If the above does not work try using a different RAM/graphics card. I very much doubt that you have killed your motherboard. But another graphics card/Ram could have been killed!
