on a laptop normally you have a button with the word or shortened version of '2nd Function' it'll be in the bottom left hand corner on another button. if you hold this down and at the same time (find the number key along the top which has a second function - normally a lock or num lock) press the appropriate button along the top row, it should return it to normal, i cannot tell you for definite on your ibm notebook, but it worked on my sisters laptop, good luck!

Try pressing the "Num" key in the top-right of the laptop keyboard. It turns the Number lock off and lets you use letters.

The first step is to read the manual. then, go to the IBM thinkpad website and read through the FAQ's, usually in the Support section.
Finally, Google for: disable thinkpad numlock.

they should clip back in, use a bit of force.. if you loose any, go to your local tesco/asda and help your self to the letters on the display models! lol
