after having trouble with spooler service. i went into admin tools to check service is set to automatic and start the service.
after checking both i get an error message saying 'Error 1068: the dependancey service or group failed to start' does anyone know why this is happening coz its really hacking me off now.
any help on this is truly appreciated.

when i click on ink monitor it tells me my espon printer is unpluged. i dont have an espon printer i uninstalled it and installed my hp desktop. so where would i find the espon to uninstall it i know its some where on my comp. i went into add and remove and removed it, whats up with that?

When I switch my computer on the - sometimes the monitor doesn't switch on. It makes all the right noises but nothing happens on screen. Whats happening? I've recently had everything updated from Windows 2000 to XP. Its all gone down hill since then. I've changed the monitor today and its still happening. I've got McAfee Security on including fire wall - could it be a virus?
I've also checked there is no wires loose!!

Please help going mad. Also please answer in plain english - not up on computer jargon.

i am a computer idiot,, yes i admit it,,so please help, my computer is 2 years old and its a dell,, when i put in a web site to go to sometimes that little flag in the corner just waves and nothing else happens, i can leave it that way for ever and it will just keep doing it until i shut off the computer and restart it then its back to normal,, what gives with it,, thnks

I am a cheapskate wanting to buy another desktop. Consumer Reports rates Dell about best for reliability vs price. So I am wondering what year old or so desktop I should buy on ebay?
I bought a Demension 3000 a year ago and it is fine and I could buy another but want max reliability and a DVD would be nice but not required. Any suggestions? (Telling me I am stupid to be so cheap is a waste of our time; I already know I am an idiot to be so poor. thanks.)

I have a HP pavilion a230n. Recently my hard drive fried and I just purchased a 250gb Western Digital. I installed XP Pro and got everything working. The only driver I can't find is for the sm bus controller. Does anyone know where I can get this? HP's website doesn't have it and I don't know what kind of motherboard I have to try and fix it. I know it is an ASUS but don't know what model. Also it seems my computer is running a little slower than usual after I installed the new hard drive. Why is this? Nothing else was changed. is there a different in performance/burning in my dvd writer or just any cdwriter if your pc is a bit old? let's say.. Pentium4@ 1.8ghz. 512mb ram, 128 video and 80gb hardisk? and compare to my other pc w/c quite cheaper,AMD Sempron 3000+ 64-bit. 512mb ram, 256mb video and 250gb hardisk?

i also seen there's an update utility icon in my nero software. Why i still have to update, when i can still also burn cd? what's the benefit of the version is updated?

It is about 6-7in fom a mobile DVD drop down unit. The unit broke, but the screen is still ok. When I took the DVD unit apart and removed the screen, the screen had some contacts from a ribbon cable. How do I figure out whick inputs to connect to the contacts on the screen so I can use the screen?
