It is about 6-7in fom a mobile DVD drop down unit. The unit broke, but the screen is still ok. When I took the DVD unit apart and removed the screen, the screen had some contacts from a ribbon cable. How do I figure out whick inputs to connect to the contacts on the screen so I can use the screen?

The screen itself won't be of much use without its controller. You need the controller board and connect your input there. Not the ribbon cable itself.
