4-4-4-12 is faster. Those are the latency timings of the RAM, its pretty complicate to explain so just take my word on it. If you are using a desktop or laptop, you want unbuffered RAM, you only want buffered for servers.

Better ram only helps if the rest of your system is either up to par or past par. Overall the difference will be little in most gaming cases. The video card is much more important then the ram. Only put extra money in ram if your video card is very good. I would suggest having at least 800Mhz.

There’s a ghost in my old laptop,
