I have a HP pavilion a230n. Recently my hard drive fried and I just purchased a 250gb Western Digital. I installed XP Pro and got everything working. The only driver I can't find is for the sm bus controller. Does anyone know where I can get this? HP's website doesn't have it and I don't know what kind of motherboard I have to try and fix it. I know it is an ASUS but don't know what model. Also it seems my computer is running a little slower than usual after I installed the new hard drive. Why is this? Nothing else was changed. Thanks in advance for you help.

I have checked the HP website. That is where I got the rest of my drivers. They do not have the one for the sm bus controller.

That's part of the chipset drivers. See the link below, download the chipset drivers, restart and it should find it and install the proper driver.
