I am looking for a particular USB cable for an older HP printer. The trouble is that I don't know how to describe it. The output and input jacks have varying sizes and dimensions. Is there terminology that describes the various sizes and dimensions, so that I can buy the correct cable?

The dimensions are different on the printer output jack, so it is not the standard USB cable.

I'm in agreement with Benjamin M. It'll be a standard USB A-B cable.

USB printer cables are standard sides. You have the regular port on one end with a more boxy port on the other.

Just ask for a USB printer cable, most computer shops will hopefully know what you are talking about. Printer cables are universal for all brands so don't worry about matching the model and make.

It's standard USB cable. One end is rectangular that goes into your computer and the other side is a small square. It's an A-B USB cable. Just a standard USB cable.

Just go to one of your local computer shops, they should be able to tell you. Have the brand name and model number with you.
