You can, but I wouldn't. It is best to UNINSTALL software that you don't need. Maybe you need a much bigger hard drive. But if your poor old computer has Windows 98 or ME, it's time to buy a new one. If your monitor is good, then get a tower only. STAPLES has an awesome deal for a new Compaq tower only for just $449. It includes the new Windows Vista, Huge hard drive, 512MB RAM, DVD/CD Burner Combo and lots of speed.

Buy a low cost USB Hard drive enclosure for your old computer's hard drive and plug that into your new computer. Visit http://www.newegg.com and look for the enclosure.

Good luck and Happy Computing.

Depending on the games you may be able to transfer games by copying their installation directories to the external drive (copy and paste), some games would not work if you do this. there is a virtualization software out there called mojopac, you can run mojopac on your external hard drive then install the games from there a lot of games are supported, great thing is when you connect the external hdd to another computer you can still run your games and programs you installed. the best thing to know if copying games would work if you try them first. if you want your game to be mobile or portable try mojopac you may like it

Yes you can, however to do it properly you would need to purchase a 'U3' external USB device.

It is a relatively new technology which allows certain programs to run off the USB stick. Only up to 4GB at the moment but watch this space. You can install any U3 compatible software on them and run the program direct from the device, its very handy when you use a few different pc's. You can install browsers, email clients, AV & Anti-Spyware programs, Skype, messanger clients....you name it you can install it.

Good luck
