I want to upgrade to Windows Vista, but my video card is the only thing holding me back from the Home Premium edition. Please don't waste my and your time by saying things like "Buy a Mac" or "Use Linux" because I prefer Windows.

Here goes my long lenghty explanation and answer. No, Only if you purchased it from a company or store that would allow you to return it for a upgraded model at a modest price. PS. I also perfer Windows over MAC or Linux, Mainly because of software support.

The graphics card is indeed built in to the laptop and cannot be replaced without great expense.
However some laptops have adjustable graphics. Usually found as an option in the bios. Your documentation should tell you how to access your bios. Please be careful when accessing the bios.

Check out if you can change the storage.

Nope. you can not upgrade the video in a laptop. its built into the motherboard. the only upgrades you can realistically do are hard drive and memory in a laptop.

there are special external video cards made for laptops with weak video cards. check google for External Video Card.

All the stuff the users said before me is BS.
