Stupid me, I put plates on my car from my cousin's old car because I didn't have the money at the time to register my car and get tags. I got pulled over and got a ticket for having ficticious plates. The very next day I borrowed some money from my aunt and got my car legally registered, but I still have to face going to court in 2 weeks. Does anyone know the punishment for having ficticious plates on your car?

I have auto pay every month from my checking to my insurance.Last week payment was due on Mon. but I couldn't put put money in my account until Thur. On Tues. I called the insurance company to tell them I'd be late on my payment, they told me it was already paid {i guess overdraft protection} So on Thurs. I went to the bank & put the payment in.I asked about it & the bank said they DIDN'T pay it. I called the Insur. again, they say they ARE paid. It's been a week and the insurance is still saying their paid.{since then I've spent most of the $$} This is a financed car, so I have to have total coverage.Well, my car was just stolen this morning while I was in work. I filed a police report, but I haven't called insurance, since the car might still be found. My question is, if the car is wrecked or not recovered, will insurance give me the $$$ if last months bill was paid late? Will they say i'm not covered during the days I was late or am I still covered since I wasn't canceled?

I recently relocated from Columbus to Chicago, but decided to leave my car in storage since I use the CTA and Metra here for cost-effectiveness. However, I miss my car, and I want to bring it up here. The thing is, the cars around here have almost the entire driver's side corner of the windshield covered in stickers. I live just north of Lincoln Park, and south of Roger's Park and Loyola University. I know I need to get my plates and registration switched over as well as update my IPass info, but what else?

Do I need a city sticker even though I park in a gated lot? Will I need a permit for my area? Do I need to get an emissions test like I did when I bought it in Ohio? I drive an 01 Honda Civic LX manual in near-perfect condition, and it's an ULE vehicle anyway.

I was involved in a car accident where the other driver ran into the rear of my car at an intersection while I was stopped. The driver admitted fault, he was cited by the police and the police report shows he was at fault. His insurance company has not contacted me. I have attempted to contact them three times and left messages. What can I do?

i wasn't the owner of a car i was driving. i got ticketed for not having insurance. i was told i could get the ticket corrected if i got insurance for the car...IT'S NOT MY CAR!!!

i tried to get the person to get insurance but their car got totaled and they scrapped it...so i got stuck with a $700 ticket.

was wondering if there is anything i could have done in court to be excluded for paying the ticket? or does it not matter, if the car is uninsured who ever is driving has a responsibility to pay???

In NY, from which state we've just moved you did not have to choose between stacked and unstacked uninsured motorist coverage. I'm not sure which is a better option.

I know that you are not supposed to need a drivers license... but surely they must require some forms of identification.

Please only answer this if you really know.
