I know that you are not supposed to need a drivers license... but surely they must require some forms of identification.

Please only answer this if you really know.

Ok - here in Florida - things are messed up... we don't get any "notice".

We just have to remember to do it or else get pulled over and ticketed.

I don't think you can do it by mail or internet here either....

Yes, in Florida, if they have your correct address, you do get a notice and it can be done on line.

To quote the page:

To continue you will need the following information:


Your renewal notice, or your license plate number and either your social security number or driver license number.
Your Amex, Visa or MasterCard.

Sounds like you moved and didn't bother to tell them that. You can update your address on the same page though.

Do you mean vehicle registration?

It varies with the car. All need proof of liability insurance. Some need smog certificate. Renewals are sent in the mail, so just send in the necessary documents along with your payment.

Here (CA) all you need is the renewal notice they mailed you.
(either doing it by mail or in person)

Or the code number on the renewal notice if you do it on line.
