Doesn't collision coverage insure you if you are hit by an uninsured motorist? I don't need any injury insurance because I have health insurance. I am just wondering about the other uninsured coverages.

I traded in my car and did not update the insurance for my new car because I was told I had 30 days to do it. My banking institution is now charging me $400 for one months worth of insurance. I need to appeal that decision. Where can I find the Utah law states how long I have to update my insurance.

First off, let me clarify. For all of those in NJ who know how stricty they are enforcing the provisional license because of recent events, you will understand what i mean. I was ticketed for having more than the restricted 1 family and one friend in the car while driving with a prov. license. Although i am 18, which makes me eligable for a "full" no restricted license, i had not found time to get to the DMV. Now i noticed that they put my last name in the Initial area. Does this qualify for a voided ticket. And if not, i still have not recieved an answer on how much this fine would be, or if anyone thinks there might be some leniancy because of my being 18. Oh yeah, i had 2 friends in the car instead of the restricted 1 family and one friend.

I heard or read somewhere that in June this year, it is to be made compulsory that all paper driving licences in still in circulation had to be handed into the DVLA and you get issued with a new photolicence. Is this true? I've had my paper licence since I passed my test 10 years ago, Im kinda reluctant to hand it in because theres not many old paper licences left.

A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee rear-ended the 2005 Ford Focus that I was driving at 1:45 p.m. (EST) on Friday, January 26, 2007. It was my very first accident. The offending driver, whose first name is London, and I pulled into the gas station. London said that he's been in an accident before... and he probably didn't want to have a ticket, so he never mentioned the idea of calling the police. I didn't think of calling the police, and I didn't have a cell phone on me at the time. London was cooperative, by providing his insurance information. I wrote down the Bumper Plate Identification of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, his full name, Policy #, Agency #, and VIN. I did not write down his personal driver's license ID #, nor his cell phone #, nor home address. London wrote down my name, insurance information, and other identification.

I think that the information I obtained was substantial. But will the information that I did not get, & the failure to call the police give me too much trouble?!??

Help me understand how car insurance works...
Here's my problem: The vehicle is insured, not the driver, right? So if I let Slob, my unemployed, carless neighbor wreck my car (which is insured), no problem, it's covered by my insurance, isn't it? AND if Slob manages to get a car, doesn't insure it, and I wreck HIS car, it's not going to matter that I'm insured as the primary driver of my car, right? I mean, nobody's going to ask ME for MY insurance information in that case are they? My car's coverage has nothing to to do with Slob's car's coverage...
More to the point, if my wife and I share one car and I am on the policy as the primary driver, is there any logical reason why she would have to ever be mentioned on ANY policy? She is insured by any insured vehicle she drives, right? And having or not having her on a policy is completely irrelevant, isn't it?

I was involved in an car accident some weeks back.

The mot had ran out in December and I was driving to a tyre garage, the car was booked in to get new tyres fitted and then the car was booked in at another garage an hour later to have the mot done.

do you guyz think the insurance well payup as they have put the claim on hold and stated that their engineer has inspected the vehicle and both tyres were below the legal requirement.

Both my appointments were pre-booked,,,

But im worried because at the time of calling the insurance company i was still in a bit of shock and when they asked where was I travelling,,.. i said to take kids to school... the kids were with me and I was gonna walk them to school once car was dropped of at tyre garage as its 5 minutes walk..

what dyou think.,.

I got in a car accident a few months ago...the car isn't mine, it belongs to my boyfriend's dad. Anyways, he didn't have insurance on it and I got a letter from the state that said I have to prove that I had insurance (even though I didn't hurt anybody else's car) during the time of the accident or else I will get my license suspended. As a girl with a perfect driving record (besides that accident) and not so much as a ticket, I am pretty upset. I was wondering why *I* would have my license suspended and not my boyfriend's dad because it wasn't my responsibility to have insurance on the car.

I was in a fender bender halloween night. The accident was "allegedly" my fault. The cops showed up got our info and we both reported to our insurance. I track my claim online and it says the case is closed but I have not recieved any info on if I have to pay or if I do not. It has been closed for over a month.

I just moved over from MO to IL about 20 mins away. I want to register my car in IL, guess what they want a copy of my contract from when I first bought my car back in 04. I was in the military and had no problems in VA, NY, or even HI. The midwest makes it so freakin hard. In MO i had to go to emissions and watch my car go by for $10. It seems like every DMV wants something different.

While sitting at a light coming home, I was rear ended and my car was totaled. I'm now suing her insurance company for damages. Their lawyer has sent me letters saying that I cannot follow through with the case because it is without merit. Everything seems to be in my favor but I wonder what makes them so smug. Are they trying to scare me off?
