Insurance has so many variables that there is not a way to tell you what the maximum amount anyone might pay could be. Also, different companies approach to underwriting differently as well. Some examples of rating variables might be your age, gender, location, credit history, marital staus, driving record, employment status and commute distance. The best way for you to get a valid answer to your question will be to call around for quotes.

My brother is 21 years old. We live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder (nothing spectacular) and he's living at home so his insurance rates are based on a "family" policy which tends to make your premiums a tad bit cheaper. About a year ago, he was in three seperate accidents with injuries to both parties and he also received two or three seperate speeding tickets, again, all in seperate instances. His monthly premium for Liability insurance ONLY is $397.00 per month! That will be his minimum premium for the next five years if he stays with our insurance company. He probably could'nt afford anything higher than that, which would be the case if he tried to go with a different insurance company on his own. In fact, most other insurance companys would not even accept him, that's how bad his risk is! So, his yearly Liability premium only is right under $5,000K. I am a 26 year old female. I have a 2006 Honda Accord Coupe (I bought it brand new). A new car is higher to cover premium wise that an old car mind you. I've had two speeding tickets when I first turned 16, but those have been off my record for almost 10 years now. I have Full coverage insurance through the same insurance carrier as my brother, and my monthly premium is only $54.00 per month ($648.00 per year). Yes, $54.00 per month for FULL coverage insurance. Can you believe the difference? So, if you have a good driving record and live in LA, I think liability insurance might cost you right around the same, or a little higher because of where you live. I think there's fancier cars in LA, and the cost of living is higher there. But to be safe, I would say no higher that $100.00 per month, and that's actually kind of high. Good luck!

You think that's bad, try $600.00 a year back in 1965, when you could buy a new car for $3,000.00 or less. Today that would be around $6,000.00 a year for Liability Insurance.
