Specifically, which major carrier (Geico, State Farm, American Family, etc.) do you feel has the best rates for quality coverage and good customer service. This would be for two autos and new home coverage. I live in the Midwest, so answers from those in this part of the US are preferred. Any supporting info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My husband is the lienholder on a vehicle that was wrecked earlier today. He was told that there was full coverage insurance on the vehicle, but later (today) found out that she had dropped full coverage, "beacause it was too expensive."

The vehicle owner was charged with the accident--too fast for conditions and following too close. The vehicle has about $4000 worth of damage to it.

The driver does not have money to get the vehicle repaired nor does she have the money to pay the tow truck driver who removed the vehicle from the scene of the accident. Her plan is to leave the vehicle where it is.

There was no payment contract as the vehicle owner is someone who was trusted to make payments as money was available. Payments have not been made. She took possession of the vehicle in September.

What steps (if any) should he take to protect his investment? Does he have recourse against the insurance company that allowed her to drop full coverage without notifying him?

I have been driving on my own on a provisional license for over twenty years almost daily, have never caused an accident and one of the most careful drivers I know. Took the test twice and failed. I can't afford to take it now. I worry about being stopped by the police. This happened once, I was given 7 days to produce my documents but I think the station was too busy to realise I never brought them in.

I know VISA and maybe other credit cards have this protection, I'm not sure why people continue to pay for them. Maybe they don't know about it, maybe its different. Also if you have a DEBIT card with a VISA logo will that give you the same coverage? anyone can shed light on this topic will be very much appreciated!

I got a DUI a few weeks ago @ the San Ysidro border crossing. I was actually still in Mexico and did not know your officially in the U.S. once you cross some line. I always assumed you were in the states once the inspector checked your ID and let you in.

The only reason I drove was due to my friend not feeling comfortable driving in Mexico, so I drove to the border line, and as were waiting a SDPD officer came to me and asked me to meet him once I crossed over. Has anyone ever gotten out of a DUI case and what was your situation? Thnaks

Ok, I understand that its my fault or whatever, but there has to be something i can do. I had a lapse in my insurance last year, of a week. Got into an accident at that time. It was literally a fender bender, clipped the rear corner of the car, broke his light. My insurance company would not help me, and his insurance company is charging me $5000. There is no way I can pay that, and the payment option they are giving me is $1600, and $300 a month. I can't afford that either, and it seems like a lot of money for so little damage. Now my license is going to be suspended unless I pay, which I don't have this money! Its not fair, because I still have to pay car insurance. I can't afford all of this, but I have to do something because I have to go to work. What can I do, should I call a lawyer???

I'm living in Oklahoma. Since I have got my learner permit, I had failed the driving test two times. Recently, I have just realized that my learner permit was expired two weeks ago.
Can I update it, or do I have to retake the writting test again? If so,
right after I pass the writting test, can I take the driving test right
away?
Thank you

the yearly surcharge. It comes to $269.00 but I lost the letter I got in the mail where it said to whom and where to mail the payment. I tried looking in the Texas dmv website but had no luck finding a phone number to contact these people. Does anyone know where I can send the payment or a phone number where I can contact them? As a matter of fact, I dont even know who I can call. I remember that the check wasn't supposed to be mailed to the local DMV, it was mailed somewhere else in Texas like Dallas or Austin. I have to get the payment in their office by Jan. 6, 2007 and was hoping to get all the info so I can overnight the payment. PLEASE HELP!!!
