Hopefully you know how to read your odometer right?

Most older odometers the digit to the extreme right showed tenths of miles [fractional miles]...

On newer models they tend not to show tenths of miles in the odometer area.. rather in the trip odometer area.

Seems to me the state you are living in wants to know the indicated mileage of your car.. "without" no reference to tenths of miles...

Does this help any?

Your odometer may show the mileage down to the tenths of a mile, but some do and some don't. If the last rotating segment on your odometer is white, it's probably the digit for a tenth of a mile. If the last segment is black, like the others, your odometer doesn't show tenths of a mile.

The disclosure statement is saying just to write down the whole miles and forget about the fractions of a mile.

Don't panic. An approximate answer will do. On many forms it even states this. If it is a used vehicle and has had another owner there is no way of knowing if the mileage is exact.
