Use Post Office counters, the Post Office, it is people like you who are causing all the Post Office closures.
Park the car off road until the Dic arrives, or if you can get duplicate documents trot down to the Post Office and buy another.
P.C. Plod will not pull you for no disc because if the documentation arrived in the land of the Leek it will appear as having been taxed on the computer but if you get pulled for anything else you will get done for failure to display.

There will be a record of it being received by the DVLA and you are covered. Did you tax it online in which case did you pront off a receipt? If you did then use that if stopped but if you explain it to the police then you shold be fine as you have paid your road tax.

If a traffic Nazi radios in your number, the police national database instantly knows if you have current road tax and insurance or not. Their database is linked to the DVLA so if you've done it online it will be recorded and you'll be fine, its technically an offence to not display but with the screwy post around christmas i doubt they'd do you for it if they know you've actually bought it. If you do get stopped and they radio in your registration, what you dont want to hear is VEL expired marker - then you've got hassle on your hands.

If you did it online or by post then the police will have a record - it would be a mean cop to do you for not displaying it - even if they did give you a ticket you just write to the DVLA and they will let you off

the cops can check if it is taxed through their computer system but if you have a copper who wants to be awkward you can get booked for not displaying the disc,he would have to be a right git to do that though.
