Different rules in different states, but if you got the vehicle at a dealership and there is NO lein (you borrowed money to buy the car) you should have had the title within a month. If they issued you a temporary tag, it has long expired!!! You are driving the car illegally!! If it was a dealership report them to the police and your DMV..they will get in lots of trouble.

However if you just lost the title, you will have to apply for a duplicate title. Get a hold of your DMV in your state and get information on the title. They won't tell you who owns the vehicle unless it is you, but they will tell you that it ISN'T you.

Drive at your own risk if you do not have the car registered!!

If you have a bill of sale (this has to be notarized) for the car all you will need to do is take down your cars VIN number (usually on the dashboard of the drivers side, can be seen through the window) and bring it into the Driver and Motor Vehicle registration place. Give them your vin number and they will fill out a lost and replacement title form for you or you will have to fill it out. Depending upon which state you are in it usually costs around $10. Good Luck, hope all goes ur way.

If he won't co function ,you will ought to take him to small claims court and ask for the signed call or all your money back. you do no longer desire an lawyer for small claims, only bypass to the close by municipal court domicile and get the papers. If he's a qualified broker you should touch the state branch of customer affairs and document a criticism they could help in securing the call. good success

Have an attorney write a letter ($40) threating to sue the dog crap out of them. They will wake up. Or just call and tell them if you don't have it tomorrow morning, the next call will be from your attorney. BTW, don't do this unless you are willing to back it up. You can recover the atty. fees when you win the suit. Also, speaking in a calm, low voice makes them think you are serious. Yelling just makes them laugh when you hang up.
