When the other guy who hit me complain to the police , the police told him its his fault because he was not in the right of way , I was. So whether he hit me or I hit him - he's at fault the cops said.

So, a college friend is attending a school far out of the state where his home residence is. He's looking to trade-in at a dealership the out-of state vehicle he's driven. The vehicle is owned, registered & insured by his parents (out-of-state), although they've filled out the seller part of the title in order to transfer ownership to him. What does he need to do now? If he completes the purchaser part of the title, will he need to register & insure the vehicle, even if he plans to immediately trade-in? Or, can he just present the title to the dealer, with his parent's signatures, & let them fill out the purchaser portion, without the parents present (they'd have to fly out to do this in person)? Is there a smooth/easy way to do this, without re-registering/insuring, or without the parents flying out?

My husband and I just bought an older truck as a second vehicle. We need to transfer the title into his name, and we heard there is a new way they figure up how much you pay to do that. At one time, you walked in with a bill of sale and said "I paid this much for this vehicle" and they went by that. Its a 1984 Ford pickup. Thanks if you can help.

I'm currently visiting family. I have never been in an accident. Actually, I prefer not to drive. I went to fill up on gas for my parents and on the way out of the gas station I scraped the whole front door on a low pole--it was about 2ft off the ground and I didn't see it. Either way—the damage has been done!

--ANYWAY--

When they call their insurance company in the morning, what will I have to do?

Their insurance is through Geico and I'm pretty sure it will be covered.

Because it was just a pole I did not call the police. I just left. Was I supposed to do something else?

Will they need my license number or insurance policy?

Will this make my insurance higher?

Should they even tell Geico that I was even driving the vehicle--because I'm not on their policy?

My car was stolen from the parking lot of my workplace.I have no theft coverage on my car. Does that mean I have lost everything? Isn't the propert owners are supposed to be held liable as the car was stolen while it was on their property? Is it worth looking into it by a lawyer or an agent or something??

Since I am paying for the damage, do I have any say as to where the work is to be done? Should I be granted more then one estimate. I want her to have good work, yet I don't want to get screwed at the same time.

This kinda of a crazy situation the car is a 2001 Honda Odyesse with a mileage of 51000 in excellent condition prior to the accident.
The Estimate to fix the car is $7800.00 which I think is crazy since the damage is mostly to the bumper and hatch. No damage to the frame or tank. I'm concerned aboout them totaling it out. Thats why I want another estimate....

second place in Las Vegas so can I register the car
there and save some or all of the 5%?

In the state of California I was driving on the 118 freeway when the car in front of me stopped abruptly. When I braked, my car slid to the left into the next lane of traffic. The driver there hit my car, sending it back into the lane. I immediately pulled over and waited to see the other driver stop. They never did. When I turned this in to my insurance company, they paid for the damage to my car (minus $250 of course) but said they would charge the accident off as my fault. This will cause my rates to go up so I really don't want them to do that. The agent said that since I did not retain control of my car and entered someone else's space, I am at fault. Do I have any chance of fighting this? Could I appeal this to the state Insurance Comissioner? anyone had any similar problems?

Thanks

My question is: I was wondering since I've been a customer with an insurnance company for over 1 yr, I have a clean driving record. Now, we are married and I'm afraid to add him to my policy due to the fact that I may get kicked off or the monthly price may sky rocket! Please help! Thank you!

Let me start by saying I am a safe, insured driver.
For various reasons, I would like details on taking a driving test abroad – many people on this forum have suggested India, Philippians, Egypt etc. in response to other people’s questions.
Could someone who has actually go through this process (above board – not fake, scam licences pls) let me know exactly where to go and how to arrange it.

I just bought a car for 6500, sunk in an extra 1000 (have receipts), and crashed it. They are offering me 5100, and that's BEFORE my deductible. That's less than I still owe on the car!

What is the best way to argue my case without shooting myself in the foot (cussing, threatening, etc... i figure those options are out)?
