My question is: I was wondering since I've been a customer with an insurnance company for over 1 yr, I have a clean driving record. Now, we are married and I'm afraid to add him to my policy due to the fact that I may get kicked off or the monthly price may sky rocket! Please help! Thank you!

I'm not sure of your question here as you have not pointed out if his record is clean or not. If it is not, then yes, your premium will increase. In some states you can do one of two things. You may get full coverage that allows anyone to be covered with out actually naming the drivers or behind his back you can tell the insurance company how much of a risk he is and they may make you sign a paper that will not allow him to drive. Other than that, make him kick in his share and pray he changes his habits as your rates will slowly decrease as he improves his record.

Ignore everything you have heard here, and ask your agent, who is the only one who could tell you what the premium will be and which way is best to do it. Perhaps he can't have a separate premium living in the same house, but perhaps having a two car discount will bring it down a bit. But again, only the agent can tell you. Ask him.

your rate should not rise, the rate for him will. however, some companies will put him into a higher risk company they own such as farmer's does. their cheapest rates are with county mutual, however they have another section that has has a higher risk factor and the rates reflect it. for several years i was a higher risk and i was insured through mid-century while my wife and kids were with county mutual. both are farmers insurance divisions, but have different risk and rate plans.

keep your own car insurance and don`t add his to yours
at the same time he needs to keep his separate from yours or your rates will go up sky high and so will his
