My insurance company Farmer's doesn't provide it, but since I have terrible credit I'm paying 29 percent interest. If something happened and the car got totaled in the first year I'm screwed. I have called around and can't find any companies that will help. Does anyone know anything about purchasing gap insurance somewhere? If you don't know what gap insurance is, just go on to the next question, ok?! lol

I slid off the road a month ago into snow bank, there was no impact, no damage. Now the person that was riding with me is claiming to be hurt. When they had been complaining about back and neck pain way before they even stepped foot into my car.

We are moving this month to Phoenix. WE have been told by several people that it is very expensive to get tags renewed on our vehicles. Does anyone know anything about this? We have a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country.
Thanks

Why are we forced to cover 3 vehicles when only 2 are driven at any given time? Seems to me that drivers should be covered for all vehicles that they own, not each vehicle.

WHEN I PURCHASED INSURANCE I NEVER TOLD THE INSURANCE COMPANY MY CAR WAS IN A ACCIDENT. MY CAR WAS STOLEN AND THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT AN ACCIDENT I HAD JUST PRIOR TO ME GETTING INSURANCE. CAN THEY DROP ME AND NOT PAY THE CLAIM OR CAN I MAKE THEM STAY TRUE AND PAY THE CLAIM SINCE THE CAR WAS STOLEN AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACCIDENT?

I recently bought a used Corolla at a Toyota dealership, I have yet to pick it up. Over the phone we were told a bunch of BS which turned out to be false once we saw the car (it had more mileage, was NOT certified etc..). So, through negotiations, we were able to get 14K "out the door" and an additional bumber to bumper warranty for 36K miles at NO COST.

Through financing, our rate was 9% and so we were told that resulted in a monthly payment of $280/mo for 14K "out the door".

They fudged with the numbers and charged us 7.84% for 16K total claiming that they had to fudge with the contract to "get us" our exteneded warranty because it was worth $2000. He even showed us that the total interest was still the same at $4152.
Once I got home, I plugged it all into a loan calculator and found out that 14K out the door @9% was really $250/mo and, yes he was correct that $4152 interest would be paid, but he forgot to mention that increasing our total to 16K upped our principal by $2000

i live in new york in the usa. my mom is giving me her car as a gift, but we use the car constantly. i can't find any details on the NYS DMV website but it seems that we have to surrender my mom's plates and registration as soon as we submit the transfer paperwork. how long will it be until we get the plates under my name? will there be a gap period when we won't be able to use the car because it won't have plates? is there any way to prevent this?

My car has been at a bodyshop for two weeks, and I have been regularly checking with the insurance estimator (Allstate insurance) on the status of the appraisal, and he's been telling me "starting tomorrow". I know insurance is paying for only one month of rental car, and I will be pushing a month in 10 days. Do you think I can demand them to extend the term for the rental vehicle, since they're taking their time and being so slow?..

My husband was driving our mustang and hit a curb when someone came out in front of him in order to avoid a collision. We took it to the dealer and got a quote and the insurance company is looking at it. When do we have to pay the $500 deductible? Is it immediately in order to get it fixed?Or can we pay it later?? SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!?!

On the back of the car title, I only see seller and buyer. I don't see an option to sign over to someone else as a gift. I've been to the ny dmv.org website and cannot find a clear answer. Their phone number is unavailable. Also, when filling out whatever needs filling out on the back of the title, does a notary have to be present to witness?

driver of the car was in the middle of the road and ended uo hitting ny spouse in the right front end. He was traveling at least 55-60 mph. my spouse's wrecker was totalled as well as the car. The officer who investigated the accident, found the other guy at fault. The insurance company was quick to settle with my spouse regarding the wrecker. He did sustain some injuries, none permanent or life threatening. The insurance company offered to pay all of his medical bills and 1000 bucks for pain and suffering. We do not feel this compensates him for the length of time he did hurt. We have a good attorney friend who has been telling us how to go about dealing with them. I just want to know how much he may really be entitled to. Your opinions.

OK, I bought my car in July of 06. Somehow on between getting the car and the way home I lost the title. I do still have the bill of sale. The man I bought the car from never titled the car, he bought it from adealership who never titled it. I called the dealership and they acted like they didnt know who they got the car from, or didnt even rememer the car. How do I find out who the car was last titled to? If I cant get a title the car is pretty much worthless? Please someone help me out here. Can I search the VIN number and find out who had it titled last? If so where do I do that?

I recently(Dec.26)got into my first car accident. An 81 year old little old lady hit me.She damaged my car but thank God neither of us were hurt.I was more concerned about getting my car fixed than in sueing her insurance company for "alledged" personal injury.I've already given my statement to the insurance adjuster and my car was immediately put into the shop and I was offered a rental and possible compensation for lost time from work. Some people are telling me I should have went to the hospital and got a lawyer and sued.Did I go about it right or did I screw myself?

shop when a litlle kid on a bike came out of a drive and hit the side of my car, thankfully he was not injured, but my car had a scratch and dent on the drivers door, the little kids bike had no brakes. it happened outside his house and mum & dad came running out. Everything was cool, exchanged details and they said they would cover the damage. I went to see a friend who owns his own bodyshop and he quoted £380, which i think is a good price, considering how much the insurance company would charge. The thing is, i rang the parents of this kid and informed them of how much it would be and they and they are saying that they want to use the insurance, does this leave me open to anything, like not reporting the accident and/or not informing my insurers / losing my no claims / paying the excess / i would rather not use the insurance as i don't want to pay any more for the insurance as it's expensive enough and they shouldn't let a kid on the street on a bike with no bloody brakes
