No license and insurance usually means a hefty fine and jail time. Speaking as one who got hit by someone with a phony insurance card, anyone who gets caught should immediately forfeit the car they are driving (I don't care who owns it - the owner is also at fault for loaning it out), the car should then be sold and the proceeds turned over to the person he or she hit as partial compensation. If there was no accident then the funds should go to the state for road repair.

in michigan, I know that the no proof of insurance can be dismissed if you take your ticket and a valid proof of insurance to the court house. they say no proof of insurance carries a maximum of $1000 fine and up to 30 days in jail. No license will probably result in probation and a fine, probably in the neighborhood of $500 to $1000. I know in michigan, being caught while driving on a suspended license can be plea bargained down to a no operators license( no ops) on person with a $50 to $100 fine and no points.

In Manitoba, the fine for no insurance is over $500, you vehicle is towed, and your plates are seized. I don't know anybody personally that has been caught and charged for no licence. The Brown Book lists the fine category as "to be determined", so I guess there is a range. Personally, I think you should be shot in the butt with rock salt for the first offence, in addition to any fines levied.

Depends on your state, In Calif. its an automatic 30 day hold on your car and finacial fines vary but can be alot of $$$ plus if you did have a license, suspension (again) extension! then you'd HAVE to get an insurance (SR-22) its a mess! Serious!
your looking at like $800 to easily $3000.00 on up depending!

To start with the small stuff and end with the worst, here goes. A ticket, an SR-22(your insurance costs will skyrocket for YEARS!!!), suspended drivers license, and last but not least, jail.

depends a lot, of course, on the state and the circumstances of the stop. It can lead to the loss of your vehicle as it can be towed and placed in impound along with the tickets and fines, plus the higher cost of insurance with the conviction. Not a good idea.

In Cali, they'll impound the car for 30 days. Even if you don't own it! (A second offense forfeits the vehicle to the state.)
Then a couple grand on top of that for fines, etc.
