It will rotate to engage the starter but won't rotate back to turn the engine off. What could be wrong?

I tried WD40 and Tapping while trying to rotate.

When I apply the brakes in my 1990 Golf, a squealing sound can be heard coming from the rear of the car. I'm quite sure that this is not coming from the brakes themselves as the noise can only be heard when the brake pedal is depressed but before any resistance is felt ie. before the pads start stopping the wheels. The brakes don't appear to be affected but I've no idea what the problem is. Please help!

I have a Vauxhall Astra. Whenever it rains and I drive the car after parking it up at night, the next day the brakes seem to stick onto the wheels. After a lot of struggling I manage to move the car or it don’t move, sometimes this creates a banging sound when the brakes are released. I think it’s my hand brake that sticks. What do you think is the problem I would be grateful if I could get some professional opinion. I will go to a mechanic this week soon. Thanx guys

Motor stored in down position so no water sat in it. Fuel got left hooked up so it had fuel in it. Motor has less than 200 hours.

I am considering putting a hood scoop on my 2007 mustang. Most of the scoops I see on the internet are attached using 3m tape. Is using this tape strong enough to hold while driving highway speeds?? Also should there be a reason to remove the scoop is it easy or does the tape damage the paint on the hood??

it starts deflating again. I can't think what's wrong with it. When I bought it, it came with two nuts at the end of the valve (before I put it on the wheel) I think one is to go on the outide of the rim and one on the inside so the valve doesn't slip into the rim.

For those who work on cars for a living or as a hobby, what is the biggest screw up you ever made?

Here's mine: I accidentally dropped a piece of old gasket maker down the hole where the distributor shaft goes. didn't screw it up too much, but I felt like an idiot since I took so much care stuffing paper towels in all the valves so nothing could fall in........ what a day.....

I have tried to change spark plugs in my car Pontiac Montana mini van, But it is no way to reach to the back side plugs (3), does anyone know how?
I know some may say to take it to shop, but it challenging for me to do the job.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE ON MARCH WERE THE TEMPERATURE WENT TO RED. THE GARAGE CHANGED THE TERMOSTAT BUT AFTER TWO MONTHS THE PROBLEM CAME AGAIN. What's the catch? How does the trade-in value factor into the cost of the new car? I'm really confused about this. We were planning to just apply for a new loan with our bank at the end of our lease and go about the traditional "car buying" experience but this threw me off guard. The dealer is offering to take $800 worth of payments on our lease to put us into a new car but how does this really work?????

It is not from the nitrous oxide system, i always saw it on car racing movie. The guy went in the car and ignite the engine, fire spitting from the muffler. Or sometimes when the engine is running, the guys just press the acceleretor and the muffler spitting fire. Read it on magazine, they call it "dragon fire or dragon breath". i want to know how it works, please tell me in the lay man term.
