Which state do you live in? If you live in Georgia and buy in Alabama, you'll have topay a transfer fee to register the car in Georgia. If you live in Alabama and buy in Georgia, the same is true. As far as sales tax, you pay only if you buy from a dealer. Buying from a private individual has no tax ramifications.

No. You will have to pay taxes in the state where you reside and where the car will be registered.
