As a tow truck driver I've seen the results first hand when people do not where their seatbelts. We rolled up on a scene where 5 people where ejected after a rollover. The baby who was 4 months old was being held in her mom's arms. the mom and other children where thrown from the car. the dad was the only one wearing a seatbelt and when I arrived he was holding the body of his wife in one arm and his baby in the other. his three other children where lying close to him. he lost his whole family in seconds.

Seat belts save lives, period. Anyone who argues otherwise is uninformed and uneducated on the subject.
Seat belts help prevent head injuries. Head injuries are often the cause of fatal accidents. I've heard some people use the excuse, "well if I get in an accident and my car catches on fire I want to be able to get out of the car quickly." Well you can't go anywhere if you are unconscious because of a massive head injury from hitting the windshield.
And even worse, you are far more likely to be ejected from the vehicle and hit god knows what, trees, other cars, the road, etc.
I always wear mine. Just recently I was in a bad car accident too (December 06) and was really glad I had it on that morning. I was driving my '97 Geo Metro (now a total loss) and was hit head on by an F150 pickup out of control on the ice. She was driving 40-45 mph. I had no broken bones, not lacerations. I did have smashed knees as they hit the dash under the steering column. I had some very large seat belt bruises. But considering what my car looked like I walked away in pretty good shape. Had I not had my seat belt on the outcome would have been quite different.

I do but out of habbit. it feels comfortable when i drive. people should wear a seatbelt to prevent injury not because the law thinks you should. anyone who pays a fine is a fool as I have been to court more than 20 times and never paid a cent. people should do things because of morals not to please the law

Yes I do.
I am not paying a ticket for the refusal.
I am basically a cheap person. Honest but cheap.
So, I wear it to save money for me.

I do ever since 2005. The cop stoped me. Thank you and I had it on. They charge $75 tickets if you do not have it on.
So, now always. Not paying silly money for a stupid ticket.
