Am I right in thinking that it would be when the visibility is bad? And when would it be denied? I bet the drivers are kept busy in places where fog is common...

I heard it from someone but am not sure if its true or not. So I want to get it confirmed. They say some potential energy are stored up in the outside surface of the aircraft and they are released when the airplane lands on the runway. How these potential energy are formed and why do they get released?

Thanks,
~Jayanth

An airplane can move at slow speeds on its own.

I was just wondering if airplanes can float on sea water. I'm referring to commercial jetliners (eg: boeing 747, Airbus 380, etc)

I have seen where NASA and the FAA has spent a lot of resources on developing a robotic small plane that can nearly fly itself with little intervention from the passengers, to make them more like cars, than what they are now which require special training and licenses to fly, even as a sport pilot.

I think it would be cool to have a plane in the garage as well, that I could jet off, especially here in Texas where going 50 miles is normal for just about doing anything.

How long do you think we are from really getting small planes to the average person, that could side as a car for getting around?

I have toyed around with some of the kit planes, and the Zenith STOL CH-701 and 801 would be great candidates for cheap, reliable aircraft that could be flown out of short run ways, a plane that I could take off in my own back yard at present. Runs on car gas, and wings can be made to fold. http://www.zenithair.com/stolch701/index1.html

Making a whole plane out of what is basically plastic? Is it a good idea? Plastic is brittle, it can shatter easily. If a normal plane is in a relatively low velocity crash the aircraft can bend and absorb some of the energy. Boeing's new plane with shatter into a million pieces. Would you fly on one?

or does it not matter?? cuz whenever i go to the regular doctor, i always ask how something will affect my flying (like my sinus problems) and they dont seem to give very good answers.. after getting x-rays of my face, i got a NOTE saying that my x-rays are "within limits".. and thats all it said.. trust me, its not within limits.. being brought to tears should never happen.. and when i say NOTE, i literally mean NOTE.. it was a piece of paper with one sentence on it.. no header, no names, nothing.. it looked like something a 12 year old would give his teacher when he skips a day of school to try and get excused... this was my first time going to this doctor cuz i just moved to the area.. and i wont go back again.. that NOTE really made me mad.. so is it possible to have an AME be my regular, family doctor??

I'm after a flight sim that's realistic but not too fancy, and that would run comfortably on a Dell Dimension 3100. Any ideas please?
