In the project, i have to create a portfolio, make a model of the thing im going to do my prject on, do presentation etc. So i wanted to know what type of project can i do relating to aircraft.
The project can be anything to do with aircraft or anything within the aircraft industry.
Thanks.

If the fuel tanks are load bearing members of the wing, I can see how it's done, but if the tank is just a "passenger" within the wing, I can't see how it's done. ( I have only flown a few times, so I am totally in awe of how these big aeroplanes work)

Faster throttle response would be an important safety feature if suddenly becoming aware of a need to climb over terrain?
A reduction from 10 secs to 5 to 6 secs could be crucial in avoiding a crash? How long have the better fuel control units been available in newer turbofans?
Mike Tyson said;
Lots of guessing here as usual... if you guys are talking about the CFM56 and saying 10 seconds you're a bit off. 5-6 seconds tops... not sure about the old JT8Ds but I can't imagine even them taking 10 seconds. As Grumpy Geezer said, the Fuel Control Units in these newer turbofans make a world of difference... but he was voted down so that pretty much sums up our knowledge base here.

I want to get my boyfriend a portable radio for Christmas. You can use it on the ground to monitor what is going on around you and you can also use it while on your plane if your other radio quits for some reason. I do not know what it is really called or where I can get it. I keep looking through yahoo search but get radio controlled airplanes instead.

I thank you for your kind answer.

What do those three terms specifically mean? I hear them on occasion from listening to JFK tower, especially when there are low ceilings, fog, rain... I would think they would have to do with ILS approach, but am not sure, could anyone explain these three terms in detail to me please?

Now they cost about 250,000 dollars and only allow you to fly for a few minutes at best.

I am building a model plane, very light and must have high lift, low speed. I know what shape the wing will be in i just don't know hat to build it with or how. Solid wood will be too heavy.

watch that.
The Iranians are so proud of that thing, I bet they think it will make them feared by the world. Too bad it's slower than a cessna 172.
Did you hear that guy talk about superior manuvering, yea right. If that thing has good manuverability with that big propeller strapped on to the back, what are we doing building streamlined fighters with thrust vectoring jet engines?

I was driving today and noticed a plane flying overhead while I was stopped at a red light, which got me thinking: are there speed limits for airplanes?

I have flown on several flights, and it ALWAYS ignores me that I can't listen to my CD player during take off and Landing. I understand no cell phones because the signal messes it up, but in the case of a CD player there is no signal, and yet they ALWAYS freak out about people having them on during takeoff and landing. It's the only thing about the fight rules I truly just don't get, and I was really hoping some one here could tell me.. why can't I rock out during take off and landing?
