Yes I seen some orange lights in the sky. ^^ I saw a orange light shoot up from the gorund about 40 miles away with comet like tracers behind it. It hovered or flew around for 2 hours. Occasionaly another orange dot would appear next to it then disapear. Iv seen this before, in that same spot. But I never seen one of those orange lights shoot up from the ground like that. Iv never seen orange lights in the sky anywhere else or maybe i just dont pay attention.

I saw a picture of Airbus a330. When I saw the first picture and the second picture, I have noticed that their engines were not the same.

After months of training and studying, I finally got to take the checkride for my Private Pilots License. Unfortunately, I did not pass the oral. The examiner I had was really very mean and very rude. He was laughing and gigling at every question I had answered wrong. He then told me I did not exert alot of effort into preparing for the checkride and that I did not study hard enough in ground school. WHY ARE FAA PILOT EXAMINERS SO MEAN ???

I’ve been curious about this for a long time and still have not received an explanation I can comprehend. A commercial pilot recently explained to me that a tailwind helps the commercial aircraft fly faster. However, the more I think about this, the less sense it makes.

I can see how this would be true if the plane is flying slower than the wind is blowing. But a jet liner travels at 500-600 mph at cruising altitude, so even if the wind were at the jet’s tail, it can’t possibly be blowing at or greater than the speed of the jet…can it? This would mean that the jet will be “outrunning” the wind, thereby not benefiting from it. Conversely, if the wind were a headwind, you would expect the drag on the jet to increase and the speed to slow somewhat.

Can someone explain this phenomenon in terms that make sense to this non-scientist? Thank you!

This question is about small plane. Why does aircraft V speed always refers to the indicate airspeed/calibrated? As we know it just show the air flows through the pitot tube, and the pitot tube got some inherent errorrs. And as it calibrated, and corrected by non-stndrd temperature and air pressure, we got the true airspeed, that for me represent the quality of air flows through the wing that directly correspondent to the aerodinamc forces like lift etc. Not the IAS. So why the V speed is not in TAS?

My friend says airplane propellers are made out of plastic. I say no, they are made out aluminum because plastic has a low melting point. My friend went to flight school and failed/ I scored a 4 on the AP chem exam. I am not flight specialist so I may be wrong but I know the uses of building materials and aluminum is used to build airplanes because it is lightweight and has a good melting point and resists rust.

Propellers, plastic or aluminum?

Unless I'm reading the specs wrong, single engines like the Cessna and Beech that are 6 passenger will only hold about 450 lbs or so worth of passengers (assuming you have a full tank).

I'm not big on conspiracy theories and cover-ups but I question the conclusion that TWA 800 was brought down by a short in the fuel tank. Ever notice that this doesn't happen to cars? And certainly planes are built to a higher standard. The reason it doesn't happen is there is not enough oxygen in a fuel tank to support combustion. Not to mention that everything on an aircraft would be protected by a circuit breaker. I would like to see this 'fuel tank explosion' reproduced. Unless they are pumping air into it I think it is impossible.
