I'm after a flight sim that's realistic but not too fancy, and that would run comfortably on a Dell Dimension 3100. Any ideas please?

Microsoft's flight sim is good but boring.

I would personally recommend IL2 Sturmovik using Track IR and a decent joystick.

It's a second world war flight sim. You can just fly, have a dogfight and even team up with others and make a squadron.
The flight model was built by the same guy who did the flight modelling for the Russian Air Force; when they no longer had a job for him he turned to producing this game.

The attention to detail is fantastic, the flying realistic and there aren't many games that give you such an insight into history, especially not in such an enjoyable manner.

Microsoft is still selling their Flight Simulator 2004, which is a good all-round flight sim. The newer FSX (Flight Simulator 10) is a much more complex program, and requires more computer memory (RAM) and a faster processor to work well, but the graphics are really impressive!
