Know that it is still by far the safest way to travel of all the options - that ought to help intellectually.
Read, listen to music, have conversations with others if they are open to it, anything to help pass the time and keep you from focusing on your fear.
Quit watching disaster stuff like that. It's almost too bad they don't show as much crud about 'ordinary' accidents - you have a greater chance of perishing in a cab on the way to the airport than you do crossing the pond via air.
If you are still nervous and your religion permits it, drink heavily.

don't worry. there on average is 87% more car crashes than planes. planes are worth a lot of money and have to go through many tests to fly. they are flown by experienced pilots who will have flown for a long time. Also (not being negative) many people survive on crashes and there is a 1 in million chance that there will be a crash and about a 1 in billion that there will be many fatalaties. just enjoy the flight and think about what you are goin to be doing in egypt

All the stats quoted are irrelevant...if you are an "infrequent" flier, you most likely are in fear of the unknown, in this case flying. Knowledge will help to alleviate this, and if you educate yourself concerning the flight, aircraft etc...it will no longer be an unknown. Many people that suffer from aerophobia, find that this helps immensely.

Think of the good time your going to have in egypt. Also there are more car crashes than plane crashes. So you are safer in a plane than a car. I hope I helped. Have a nice trip!

Well, they say that air transportation is safer than road travel.
When car crashes happen, you rarely hear it on the new. But when a plane crash anywhere in thw world, you'll hear it, because it is so rare!
If you are still afraid, i cant help you. Just remember this:
Death in a crash will be quick. No pain at all.

Just keep in mind, the pilot and co pilot and flight attendants are just as interested in having a safe trip as you are. Also, please realize the airline does not want anybody to break their shiny, new airplane.
Have a great trip!
