I would like to know if I have the right to take the car back for an exchange or refund due to the fault.

This depends how long you have had it. The retractable roof is probably a fundamental part of the car, so If you drove it home and the roof failed the first time you tried to activate it you would have a good case for a full refund. If you have left it at the dealers for them to look at you may have given away some of your rights. The thing to do is to say something along the lines of "you may examine the vehicle with a view to rectification but I reserve my right to reject....". The longer you have it the harder this is to do. Generally (assuming new) if it fails in the first 6 months it's up to the dealer to fix it or prove you abused it, after 6 months it's the other way round ie you have to show it was faulty.
