I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE ON MARCH WERE THE TEMPERATURE WENT TO RED. THE GARAGE CHANGED THE TERMOSTAT BUT AFTER TWO MONTHS THE PROBLEM CAME AGAIN. I SENT TO THAT GARAGE AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY SAID MY WATER PUMP IS GONE BUT UNFORTUNATELY AFTER WATER PUMP CHANGE THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON AGAIN. I THINK I'VE BEEN CON. THEY NOT EVEN NO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM IS.SO CAN ANYONE ANY IDEA WHAT'S THE PROBLEM AND IS THERE ANY SIGN IF MY HEAD GASKET GONE. PLEASE HELP ME

So for two months the problem went away. Then water pump was replaced. Fortunatly the front grills come off easy be carefull touching the tubes of the radatior feel the temp of each tube idleing cold tubes indicate clogged coolant flow. Then shine a drop light or flashlight thru the core and see if there is junk keeping the air flow from the tubes. The whole radatior can be replaced in minutes. Spring clips and rubber at the top and rubber mounts at the bottom slides straight up and out. In the USA we don't get the 2.0 liter four cyl 5 series.

You probably do not have a head gasket problem. If that were the problem you would show a loss of coolant and probably a lot of white smoke(steam) coming out of the exhaust. My guess is a blockage in the cooling system, the radiator in particular. Someone may have use radiator stop leak some time in the past. Stopping the leak is only part of the result of that. The other is the core of the radiator gets plugged up as well. That is my best guess.
