I got out of the Navy in Feb. 07 and still in the reserves. But my delima is I've worked as a pest control guy which didn't pay squat. I applied for a distributing company and they hired me and now working longer hours and more stress but a little bit more money. Should I keep looking or focus on sticking with this co.? My wife says I'm a complainer, she doesn't work and I support her and her three kids. I don't know but am very frusterated.

I work at a retail store.
I have on call hours today. I have to call in an hour before to see if they need me at work.
What would happen if I don't call?
I really don't want to work today.

I feel lost as to how to re-enter the working world which I inhabited from age 15 'til I had kids in my 30s. I have a BS in Zoology & an MS in Counseling (but not licensable as a counselor, don't have the requirements) and served in the military (not in a transferable field, of course! Had to stay out of the workforce much longer than planned due to child w/ a disability but really want to return. But to what? I've been looking and it seems like all the professional jobs I see require qualifications I don't have or degrees I don't hold. Due to certain physical limitations I now have, I can't do jobs involving lifting or prolonged standing (like all day) and that further reduces my options. I'd sure appreciate some suggestions particularly if there's anyone out there who's been a SAHM and been able to re-enter the professional world; please no b.s. jokester-type responses because I don't need to be kicked when I'm down. Thanks!

I want a career in medicine. Can anyone think of any jobs that are medicine based that I can do at 16 as this would look good on an application to a med school.

Also, do supermarkets let 16 year olds with no experience work in a pharmacy, obviously just handling OTC drugs?

Regards

My stutter is not extreme but it is a problem on a daily bases. Im 16 and i live in CA and I want to be employed by a place that will cover my disability, what i want to know is if theirs a benefit package such as the Long Term Disability plan that will cover my bill of a Device known as the fluency master that device is suppose to reduce my stuttering. Here is the def. of the plan of the long term disability : A separate accrual of Extended Sick Leave (ESL) is used for short-term illnesses. ESL accrues annually at the rate of .77 hours per week (pro-rated for part time employees). Spaulding also offers a Long Term Disability plan that is based on your weekly salary.
Is that the plan for me? and if it is how does it work between me and the place thats hiring me??

I have a degree in English (Language and Lit. Minor education) and I've been supplying for six years without a single interview!!! I'm tired of never knowing when/if I'm working or what my paycheck will be...I need a real job...the problem is I live in a super small town and the schoolboard is one of the major employers...I've applied everywhere (except for minimum wage jobs) and I haven't even been interviewed despite a huge amount of professional development courses, six years experience, and great references/letters of rec...so now I"m 30, have a university degree and am looking at applying to jobs at THE MALL!!! I need ideas...or at least some 'virtual hugs' of 'it'll-get-better soon'.

I have a degree in Business Information systems, am a six year active Army veteran in Satellite systems, and have a government secret clearence. But, still can't find of job for over 6 months now (besides walmart, or Iraq). Why? So far having a degree or being a veteran means nothing, let alone together.

If you were a recruiter, how would you sell work in the public sector to a student who has the choice between government and private jobs, specifically, work at the Attorney General's office?

If you were a student, what would attract you to public sector work, knowing it pays approximately 2/3 of that of a private sector job?
